The Division of Pediatric Surgery is based at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the second largest children’s hospital in the United States. The hospital is ranked among the best pediatric centers in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and is listed on their Honor Role. The division sponsors a Level I ACS-verified pediatric trauma program and an ABA-certified pediatric burn program. The faculty members in the division include fourteen board-certified pediatric surgeons, six of whom are also certified in surgical critical care, and one hospitalist, who is board-certified in general surgery and specializes in burn and trauma care. The division offers two training programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME): a two-year residency in pediatric surgery and a one-year fellowship in pediatric surgical critical care.
