OSUWMC Laser Capture Molecular (LCM) Core


The Laser Capture Molecular (LCM) Core of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) has been set up to enable investigators to incorporate the benefits of laser capture microdissection in their individual research projects. This exciting technology which was developed at the National Institute of Health helps to overcome the heterogeneity of tissue to isolate specific and pure populations of cells. Laser capture microdissection is a state-of-the-art technology for isolating pure cell populations from a heterogeneous tissue specimen. It can precisely target and capture the cells of interest for a wide range of downstream assays as shown below:
