OHIO STATE’S BURN CENTER VERIFIED BY ABA The American Burn Association (ABA) Burn Center Verification Committee has verified the Ohio State University Medical Center’s Burn Center as an adult burn center, recognizing the center for its commitment to excellence and providing quality burn care for its patients. The review was conducted by the ABA and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. Under the direction of Dr. Sidney Miller, who is also the first vice president of the ABA, the burn center is the only adult burn treatment center in central Ohio, providing inpatient and outpatient care for burn wounds, complex burn management and serious skin conditions. Also part of the Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center, the burn center offers physical and occupational therapy, speech language therapy, social work and nutrition services.

OHIO STATE CRITICAL CARE DOC PRESIDENT OF LOCAL CHAPTER Dr. Matthew Exline, of the division of pulmonary, allergy, critical care and sleep medicine at the Ohio State University Medical Center, has been named president of the Ohio Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Offering a variety of activities promoting excellence in patient care, education, research, and advocacy, the society is the only organization representing all professional components of the critical care team. Exline completed his medical training and residency at Ohio State, and his research and clinical interests include sepsis, and critical care and sleep medicine.

OHIO STATE CRITICAL CARE DOC SELECTED TO FELLOWSHIP Dr. David Nunley, of the division of pulmonary, allergy, critical care and sleep medicine at the Ohio State University Medical Center, has been selected to fellowship in the Society of Critical Care Medicine and will be inducted at the upcoming annual conference in Nashville. Nunley specializes in pulmonary diseases, transplantation and critical care medicine, and his clinical interests include lung transplantation and critical care of solid organ transplant recipients.
